Eastbourne is a traditional seaside
resort situated in an idyllic position on the South Coast. The South Downs
provide natural shelter and give Eastbourne an enviable climate with sunshine
hours above average. It is approximately 70 miles south of London and may be
approached from the M25 by the A22 or from the east and west by the A27 and
A259. |

The Promenade stretches for five
miles from Beachy Head in the west to Sovereign Harbour in the east. The
seafront features the famous Carpet Gardens, the 1930's Bandstand and the
Victorian Pier. There are also museums and three theatres.
Princes Park
has a picturesque boating lake, mini-golf, lawns and flower borders as well as
the Bowling Greens. Places of interest include Alfriston, Bodium Castle, Battle
Abbey, Hastings, also walks along Seven Sisters, Birling Gap and the South
Downs Way. |
